Monica Aquiningoc, MSW H.E.A.R.T Program Specialist

Monica was born and raised in San Diego, California and was presented the opportunity to attend Hawaii Pacific University on a Cheer Scholarship, in which she remained on the team from 2007-2011. She earned her bachelor's degree in Social Work from Hawaii Pacific University in 2011 and continued on to earn her Masters in Social Work through HPU's Advanced Standing Program in 2012. One of her greatest experiences was her trip to Vietnam with Social work classmates to teach English at schools and orphanages, complete projects to enhance the facilities, provide care and support, and basic care for children who have been effected by Agent Orange and orphaned youth. Her experience ranges from Kalihi Palama Health Center serving the homeless and mentally ill population, and The Children's Alliance of Hawaii as a BSW Practicum student. Her MSW Practicum experience was with Hawaii International Child, a local adoption agency that does local, national, and international adoptions. Monica lives with her boyfriend, two Cats "Jupie" and "Pooder," Guinnea Pig "Gwenny," Bunny "Lil Pun," and puppy "Pu'uwai Honi." Monica enjoys the beach, anything recreational, animals, arts and crafts, spending time with friends and family, and laughing as much as possible.
