The Children’s Alliance of Hawaii’s Annual Mahealani Fundaiser Nets More Than $175,000
The Children’s Alliance of Hawaii’s (CAH) eighth annual Mahealani event was once again a sold-out success, raising more than $175,000 for the non-profit organization, which helps sexually abused children. The money was raised through a combination of table sponsorships and live and silent auctions. Alice Robinson chaired this year’s event, the most successful Mahealani to date.

“This year’s event was very special. We had an outdoor event for the first time at the beautiful Moanalua Gardens, which further added to the magic of the evening. There was an outpouring of support from our sponsors and auction donors, making it possible for us to exceed last year’s fundraising number. I would like to personally thank each and every individual and company involved in making the event such a huge success and having an impact on the lives of the children we serve,” said Alfred Herrera, president of CAH. “I also want to thank this year’s honoree and keynote speaker, Thalia Murphy, for her dedication and commitment to prosecuting sexual predators in the State of Hawaii for over 20 years.”

Among this year’s table sponsors at the $10,000 Plumeria level were:

• HighMark Investments, LLC

In-Kind Donors:

Auction items were abundant and diverse, ranging from handcrafted jewelry and clothes to artwork and exciting adventure packages. Among the high-end items were:

• Neiman Marcus private dinner for eight hosted by Alice Robinson at her exquisite Diamond Head beachfront estate with entertainment by The Brothers Cazimero, $7,300
• Romantic Telluride Getaway for two for one week with roundtrip airfare on Continental Airlines, $3,400
• Six hour charter for six people aboard the Mahea B., a 47-foot Viking Sportfisher, $3,100
